Faithful

Days pass with nothing changing
Just the same old same
I almost give up believing
But You call my name
I read again the words of promise-
The words that cannot lie
I feel the faith rise up within me
And I begin to cry

Because heaven and earth may pass away
And the things I love be torn from me
But I know my God is Lord of all
And I know He is
Faithful

He asks just one thing of us-
That we believe
It’s not as easy as it sounds
So much we never see
Faith, He says, comes by hearing
And hearing by his word
We’ve got to feed it daily
To let His voice be heard

I want to stand firm to the end
I want to see Him come again
I want my life to be a light-
Want to fight the good fight
I want to finish this race
In awe of His grace
So that the crown that waits for me
I may lay at His feet

Waited for a promise that was finally given
